About the Author

I'm now in my 60's, and at age 4 or 5 I became a rapturously born again Christian (non-demoninational). My religious inclinations and practice have varied since then. But it is this same inimical Jesus I have always known who seems also to speak throughout this book.But while reading it, I thought Gabrielle's "conversations" seemed different than my own lesser, meeker ones, so I kept putting the book down in frustration. Perhaps being an actress she led a more emotional and wealthy life with much aplomb, so different from my own. Maybe this wasn't the book for me.But it kept calling me back, so eventually I had read it nearly to the end. Then, her final entries up to her death suddenly moved me so much I broke down and cried. And then realized I was no longer afraid of death! I believe I had to read the whole book to get this point. She (and He) did this for me!(Also, I happen to be a 10-year breast cancer survivor.)
Certainly the reader has to remind themselves that in He and I s/he is reading words given us through a mystic. It does at times seem a bit too sweet perhaps, or too much of a "Jesus and I" book that is exclusive of everyone else. But the interior revelations to Bossis are not exclusive and they are the words of divine love. Keeping this is mind then lets the reader, male or female, begin to experience Jesus speaking to all of humankind through this very down to earth woman who has an active life in the world of theatre and is as busy about the normal life as any of us have. Still, in spite of travel and performances, shopping for groceries and cooking meals, catching trains and running to the theater this lady receives mystical messages "on the run" so to speak. If the reader will open their heart, take time and let Jesus speak to him or her through this book I feel certain that they will come to know how deeply God loves them and wants a real, true, down-to-earth love affair with each person. Perhaps this book is one that the reader has to develop a taste for, but having developed it, He and I has the power to be a life changing book to read, meditate and read a little more. This book is well worth the effort to take a revelation given to someone else and make it intensely personal for the reader. You will be grateful that you have purchased this book and I am confident that having done so you will treasure this book similarly to treasuring the Bible. He and I is definitely NOT Revelation in the sense that the Bible is, however it is a work or mysticism that is a special experience of God speaking to us in words that take us from a perhaps at times shallow relationship with God to a very deeply personal love affair with God. In this sense it is revelation with a small "r". No one needs to accept this book as authentic, but if we can get by the speeh of a mystic and accept that the words are as much for us as for Gabrielle Bossis, He and I will be a spiritual experience that opens our minds to a truth that is also shown us throughout Sacred Scripture, namely that God loves each of us as if we were the only human that ever lived. I highly recommend this book to the person seeking to have a more profound spiritual life.
This book will change your life in soooo many ways. Every time I pick it up and read, it is as if Jesus is speaking and correcting me himself. It fits the situation every time. Amazing. You will develop your own love affair and love story with Him and He with you. You will not be the same person after you have read a few chapters of the book. You will come away with the sense of knowing who you are, who created you, and what is expected of you now that you know who He IS. Get the tissue out. It is a real eye opener. Life is hard and unfair. As I read the book, I could only handle a few pages at a time. Sometimes, it was one page and that was it. Everything about you will change.At times, He is pretty blunt which could be painful. At times, He is a loving God. You will know who He IS. You will learn who you are. And here I thought teaching first grade was the one of the most important things in my life....boy....was I wrong. I realized that we have known Him for eternity and we are on borrowed time here on Earth.Another great book that I recommend reading first is the dairy of St. Faustina. That book will change you life too. For me, that book was just the beginning .
