If you love this kind of book, you will love it, devour it and enjoy the hell out of it, I sure did.Well, now where do I begin. First kiss, first love, first Hate, first touch, is something that you always remember specially if all those things happened with the same man and there is a reason why this book is called Firsts.Silas and LeÃa story is just that a bunch of first with a forbidden man. This story takes you on an insane ride of discovery, crossing boundaries, lust and some heartbreak. C.L Matthews doesn’t amazing job at making you feel everything the characters are feeling, the roller coaster of emotions in every page.Silas an older man, a friend of the family, someone that Leia mom grew up with, now is the center of Leia attention, something she has never felt has creeped up on her and Silas is the reason for all this thoughts and feelings.Leia, is his best friends/ lover at times daughter, someone he saw being born and now she is the center of his thoughts and lust. Something that it can happened because of age, loyalty toward her mother and many other reasons. But can they really stay away, can the obstacles that present themselves really stop the unthinkable and inevitable.This was one of the HOTTEST book I have read in a while, so forbidden but oh, so hot and intense. The hear break is real and the feels are deep. Specially with this damn cliffhanger, that I just wanna pull my hair and scream at the top of my lungs, because Damn...... really!!!!!!!!!Please, enjoy this deliciousness of taboo. Firsts left me all hot and bothered; hot because of the filthy, steamy scenes, and bothered because at the end, I wasn’t sure what I wanted for each main character. I am torn, to say the least.In an age gap, taboo or forbidden romance, I typically look for the inner struggles and the characters’ rationalization of the relationship. The older one in the relationship must impress me to win me over. This person is supposedly the more mature one in the equation; the one with experience, who knows better than to be attracted to the much younger girl or guy, what more act upon the attraction.So, did Sy, the stepfather, win me over? Do I want to care about his interests in this? Let’s just say he’s not quite there yet but he’s doing a lot better than I thought he could. Sy is a magnetic alpha; his presence consumes Leia and their exchanges are heated. He is a dominant force; he invades her senses like no other. I’m glad the story is also told from Sy’s point of view as his thoughts and feelings help me form, or rather, change, my opinions of him.Leia..oh where do I start? She met Sy at a young, impressionable age. Her beauty and innocence are her weapons, albeit this started quite unwittingly. Leia’s self-awareness changed over time; I believe her family dynamics contributed a lot to her formative years, and that Sy “lucked out†as he met Leia during this time. I felt that Sy took advantage of this and ran with it.Firsts definitely whetted my appetite for forbidden romances and I cannot wait for the conclusion to this compelling story.
I like my reads dark, dirty and taboo and Firsts hit all of my buttons. A very alpha older man and young inexperienced girl. Oh Sy how I wish I was about 35 years younger and living between the pages of this book. This was my first read by C.L. Matthews and she did not dissapoint - I devoured it and want more now. There are secrets being kept and I cannot wait for them to be revealed. And then there's Brax, Leia's best friend. I have a one track mind where he is concerned and know what I want, just hoping my wish is granted and it's for the long haul. If you enjoy a good age-gap story with a twist of taboo, then this story is for you - one click it, I promise you won't be disappointed.
Oh my, Sy! â¤ï¸Damn, I don't think I have met a sexier character, at least not lately!!From his first interaction with Leia, Sy captured my attention. Not necessarily my heart just yet, but he's getting there!This double forbidden romance of a stepdaughter and stepdad, with a huge age gap (I'm still trying to figure out how huge, by the way), had me finishing this novella in one sitting. I just could not put it down!Sy, the older man with the most magnetic personality, enters Leia's life when she is quite young. The attraction between them jumps off the page and is undeniable.Sy is quite difficult to figure out. I'm struggling as much as Leia is with him. He runs hot and cold. But why? Because he's married to her mom? Or is it something, or someone else?This novella left me with more questions than answers, including why the hell Brax, Leia's male best friend, is even pulling any of Leia's attention away from Sy. Ok, I'm half joking about that. But for reals? When I choose between them, there's really only one for me! LOLOLFirsts does end on a pretty substantial cliffhanger, so if that's not your jam I recommend waiting for the release of Lasts.Otherwise, go get yourself some Sy!
